Anglican Churches

The Church of England is Episcopally led by 108 Bishops, and Synodically governed by the General Synod of the Church of England, which convenes twice yearly.

There are two weekly newspapers dedicated to the Church of England, The Church Times and The Church of England Newspaper,  both of which publish most of their main articles on the web.

Leadership is shared by two Provincial Archbishops Justin Welby , Archbishop of Canterbury and John Sentamu , Archbishop of York. The two provinces are divided into Dioceses , each led by a Bishop.

Chippenham is in the Diocese of Bristol, which is led by Rt. Revd. Mike Hill, and supported by Rt Revd Dr Lee Rayfield, the Suffragan Bishop of Swindon.

Chippenham lies in the Archdeaconry of Malmesbury, led by The Ven Christine Froude. This is further divided into four Deaneries - Chippenham, Kingswood and South Gloucestershire, North Wiltshire and Swindon.

Some parishes in the Deanery (St Nicholas Hardenhuish, St Paul's Chippenham and St Peter's Langley Burrell) are led by the North Chippenham Group Ministry team.
