The two Methodist churches in membership with CCT, Central and Sheldon Road, are part of the Chippenham Methodist Circuit which comprises 12 local churches and chapels, each having its own Church Council, and sharing three full-time ministers and 29 local preachers.
The Chippenham Circuit is one of 24 Circuits comprising the Bristol District, which extends from Weston super Mare to Swindon and Tewkesbury to Glastonbury, and whose Chairman is Rev A Ward Jones.
The Bristol District is managed by a District Synod, and has the distinction of encompassing John Wesley's Chapel and the Charles Wesley Heritage Centre.|
Nationally, there are 33 Districts, which comprise the Methodist Church of Great Britian. Delegates from each District meet yearly, every June. The 2005 conference will met in Torquay. (In 2004 it was in Loughborough, in 2006 it will be in Edinburgh).
The ongoing work of the Conference throughout the year is undertaken by the Methodist Council, comprising a President and about 70 voting members, who meet every two months.
The Methodist Church publishes a newspaper every Thursday, The Methodist Recorder.
